Life Cycle Information for CPR Compliance
About the project
Funded by the EU commission, this project aims to develop a publicly available library of Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) datasets covering 34 construction-relevant materials across eight industrial sectors. All datasets are compliant with EF 4.0 methodology and the Construction Products Regulation (CPR), providing an open-access foundation for environmental assessments in the built environment.
Background
High-quality, publicly accessible LCI data for construction materials remains a significant gap in the LCA community. Existing datasets are often proprietary, geographically limited, or inconsistent with current regulatory requirements. This initiative responds to that gap by engaging industry stakeholders to contribute primary data, which is aggregated and anonymised to produce representative background datasets, distinct from company-specific EPDs.
GreenDelta in the project
GreenDelta leads the project as its manager, overseeing the data collection process and converting all validated submissions into publication-ready ILCD-formatted datasets. Drawing on their deep expertise in LCA methodology and open data infrastructure, GreenDelta ensures that each dataset meets the technical requirements of EF 4.0 and is ready for integration into LCA software.
